Sometimes, it just HAS to be about us, about me, about you. Not being selfish, but our own ‘self’ is a crucial part of our lives. It is the one thing that WE have control of, that we MUST work on, if we want to change those around us. It is the one thing we have to understand. Understanding the self means understanding self-concept, self-esteem and self-love.
What does your self-concept and self-esteem look like? It is positive, or negative? It’s in your hands to change that, all by Allah’s will of course. It’s up to us to love ourselves, to change ourselves for the betterment of our own selves and the people around us. In order to love others, we need to love ourselves first. This isn’t being selfish. How can you let yourself go into ruins while trying to love and please others?
Allah states in Surah At-Tin:Ayat 4 “We have indeed created humankind in the best of stature.” We are created in the best of manner. But it is our job to love and appreciate the blessing bestowed upon us by Allah.
Join us on March 16th at 7pm at the MAS Youth Center with Sister Lana Safah as we embark on an important journey on learning to love and know ourselves so that we can gain fulfillment in our lives and also benefit others! Dinner and an activity will be included on us!
