Program Director

Imam Wesley Lebron is a Puerto Rican, born and raised in NJ who converted to Islam in 1998. He has played a critical role in dawah, education, and revert care for many Islamic organizations. He is currently the President of the 3 Puerto Rican Imams projects and serves as Director of programs and education for MAS NY Reverts Reconnect.

Program Administrator

Gabriela Bustos is from Colombia and accepted Islam at an incredibly young age of 14 in 2012, and she considers her reversion as “by far the greatest thing that has ever happened to her”.  Over the years she has learned Islam at a much deeper level for which she is very appreciative to the local and online Muslim Community that supported her growth.   She currently resides in Brooklyn and is excited to join MAS NY Revert Reconnect Program to support and teach other reverts in the community just like how she received these services many years ago.   Among her many other talents, she also holds a graduate degree in AAS Fashion Design.  She can be reached at g.bustos@masnewyork.org.

Instructor & Mentor

Umar Victor Tejada is a Dominican-American revert born and still residing in the Bronx, NY. He says that his reversion in 2017 was the best and most monumental decision he has ever made. He began formally studying Islam in 2019 and is currently enrolled in Mishkah University and taking lessons with various Sheikhs in US. He also has an Associates Degree from BMCC in Writing and Literature. He is one of the instructors for the MAS NY Reverts Reconnect and Youth Departments, and within other local communities; serving the deen as a big brother and mentor in Queens & Bronx.
