UNDERSTANDING THE SHARIA
MAS NY TARBIYA CLASS
Join us this August for a two-session course on Shariah led by Sheikh Mohammed Badawy. This will be an introductory course into what shariah is.
Khateeb Training Program
The Khateeb Training is designed to directly provide and/or facilitate the acquisition of vital Muslim leadership skills such as:
- Quran recitation and imamah
- Public Speaking
- Knowledge in Fiqh/Usul
- Proficiency in Islamic Studies – Arabic, seerah, aqidah, etc
- Activism
- Leadership skills and Nonprofit work
Instructors & Mentors: Sh. Mohammed Badawy, Sh. Abdelrahman Badawy, Sr. Ahlam Hassan and OAK Tree Institute
Objective:
To reach a minimum of 10 individuals fully proficient in the fundamentals of the above-mentioned categories (among others) to the extent they are adequately prepared to regularly fill in leadership roles, specifically (but not limited to):
Khateeb/Halaqah leaders
Ramadan khawatir
Youth mentor/teachers
Masjid leadership
The goal is to have at least 10 individuals adequately filling all the gaps in these positions at MAS NY within 2 years in shaa Allah.
Training Outline:
Weekly meetings covering a range of Islamic topics
Weekly Reading assignments
Course quizzes & homework
Bi-monthly workshops focusing on Leadership training
Mandatory Volunteer hours
Expected commitment from attendees: 10 hrs/wk
Students must maintain a 65% attendance rate in order to qualify for our Khateeb Training Certificate.
Any student whose attendance rate falls below 50% will be dropped out of the program.
